Hi, I had a lot of automatic cars, last was a 1991 corolla 1.6 GLi 3-speed Auto (no verdrive) type of getriebe was A131L (full mechanic, no electronics).
It was working perfect.
With a little gas pedal press, you were getting at once, downshifting for better accelereation, and getriebe was responding more faster, eventhough it was just 105ps motor.
Now, with this 1999 hyundai santamo auto+OD, i check the color of the gearbox oil, the level while working and hot with N or P, and everything fine, but very-very-very slow responding transmission.
Also when cold of course, i wait 2 min, and then engage getriebe, just to give it time to make pressure.
When cold, you don't hear a tick o a noise from the engine, but if you go up a hill, the getriebe seems to be a bit pressed more, and when i park my car i hear a steady noise like a bad rod knock, which of course comes from getriebe, nit from engine.
The total car is perfect form my needs, except fuel consumption, and now , a feeling i have about these gearboxs.
I am a mechanic, and i tell you, no metal like 1980-1994 japanese motors, transmissions, and everything. 100% working LIFETIME cars.
for example, when i am going 70 km/h and come to leave the road, and get to a small road, this auto takes too much time to downshift from 3rd to 1st, and i have to press gently the gas pedal.
do all of you have this auto getriebe as normal working?
